Dr. Douglas H. McConnell

moved to Redding in July 2009 to assume the duties of Director of Cardiac Surgery for Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding California.

He brings 28 years of experience in Cardiac and Thoracic surgery to SRMC from his previous hospital, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC).

LBMMC is a 750 bed adult and pediatraic tertiary care, university affiliated medical center. Dr. McConnell was an active teaching surgeon for the surgical residents from the University of California at Irvine and the PA students from Western University. He served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
